what is bordem?

bordem was the site that predated doofonline, the one you're reading right now.

it was a single-page, self modifying mess, but it worked! the entire site was mostly unorganized and took place as a conversation between 3 people:

green,

blue (the techy one),

and red (whether he's funny or not is... up to you)

and i do mean the entire site, navigation and all. it was one long thread, split up into conversations with headers and dates.

until i decided to bring them back in the "new" eternal bliss, they haven't appeared but a few times on the new site, DoofOnline, that you're reading now.
Bordem.html never got a proper release on the wider internet, and probably won't unless I go back through and clean it up a bit.

fun fact: the main CSS that's used on the frontpage and everything with that yellow on black look is actually called "normalbordem.css"!
the name meaning that it's NORMALIZED bordem. since the entirety of bordem was singlefile, its styles were all inlined and they were scattered all over the place. for my other projects, i needed a unified stylesheet, so i collected everything and dumped it into one file.
when i started this site in 2023, i started off just reusing that CSS and that same style. over the years, it has almost doubled in length and so much more stuff has been added to it.
another fun fact: in the 4th of july part 2 update (what a world, what a world) and the REVAMP/DoofOnline 2.0 update, the updated and refactored stylesheet is called "unusualbordem.css" for the meme and to keep history running :)
